Redress Design Award 2020 has named its finalists. Redress is a leading non-government organisation working to reduce fashion's waste. The finalists for the 2020 award hail from nine countries, including graduates from Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion.
The finalists are:
Womenswear category in partnership with the R Collective:
- Juliana Garcia Bello, The Netherlands
- Laura Krause, Albania
- Grace Lant, Hong Kong
- Tong Jianlong, Mainland China
- Ruth Weerasinghe, Sri Lanka
Menswear category in partnership with VF Corporation:
- Marie-Eve Aubry, Canada
- Beatrice Bocconi, Italy
- Inhwa Jin, Korea
- Ngoh Ha Thu Le, Vietnam
- Gönül Yigit, The Netherlands
The womenswear prize winner will join The R Collective, an up-cycling fashion brand, available on Net-A-Porter. The winner will translate their final Redress Design Award competition collection into a limited-edition capsule collection for retail in 2021, joining nine previous competition Alumni who have already worked with The R Collective.
The menswear winner will receive mentorship with experts at VF Corporation, an apparel, footwear and accessories company, which is home to brands including Vans, The North Face and Timberland.
