Newsquest has announced that The Oldham Times will become a daily paper in the New Year. The title launched three years ago as a weekly newspaper. The Oldham Times' local journalism has become more important in recent months after the town lost its daily newspaper in 2017. The daily paper will feature a new roster of supplements during the week, including food and drink guide and homes and interiors pull-out, as well as a seven-day TV guide every Saturday.

Editor Steve Thompson (pictured) said: "We have expanded the current Oldham news team by investing in more professional journalists. This includes a new crime and court reporter, a new local news reporter as well as a community news editor dedicated to the Oldham area."
