Platform Creative has been appointed to handle the press and publicity for luxury prêt-à-porter womenswear label, SGBG Atelier. Founded in India by mother-son duo Bindu and Surya Giri, with a focus on expert craftsmanship and combination of contemporary ideas with cultural design techniques, the brand delivers unique pieces that are rooted in heritage.

The brand’s parent company, Bindu Giri, is a decade-old, award-winning handloom label that provides garments to fashion’s elite across the globe. In this new venture, Bindu joins forces with her son Surya, who comes from a music and orchestration background. Surya amplifies his mother’s eye for detail and brings the label to a new level of technical excellence. Together, the pair create pieces for modern women with a flair for the unexpected and a penchant for the highest quality materials. The brand’s signature fabrics are all hand-woven across India by a limited number of master weavers who possess the knowledge and skill to create the traditional textures. Given their unique authenticity, the brand’s signature pieces can take anywhere between eight to nine months to weave.
