The Hair And Beauty Industry Awards (THABIA) has announced its launch for 2020. The awards will aim to celebrate the Afro hair and beauty tastemakers of the year. THABIA is the first of its kind in the UK that is dedicated to celebrating Afro hair and beauty professionals 

The awards were created by the Coiffeur Group's founder and award-winning hairstylist, Dionne Smith. As a hairstylist Dionne recognised the necessity for such recognition within the industry, aiming to close the gap herself and give the change for creatives to earn valuable credibility. 

The awards will have categories for hairstylists, make-up artists, and nail technicians. There will also be an extra category for social media game-changers. 

THABIA will be held on 27 September 2020 at the Hilton Tower Bridge.
