Hearst Magazines UK has announced the appointment of Ally Oliver as editor of ASDA’s customer magazine, which is distributed to over 1.9m readers. Ally has over 25 years’ media experience and is currently a freelance editorial consultant, journalist, PR and author. Her client work has included brand refreshes and new product developments for M&S.com, Bauer Media and HELLO!, and she regularly writes for newspapers, magazines and websites. Prior to this, Ally was development editor of HELLO! Fashion Monthly. Before HELLO! she worked as assistant editor of Closer and launch editor on both Closerdiets.com and Closeronline.co.uk. Ally has also held senior editorial positions on titles including New Woman, J17, Bliss and Inside Soap. Ally will join the ASDA team on 11 January and report to Hearst’s commercial content director, Victoria White.
