Young Adult author Juno Dawson, formerly James Dawson, has been appointed as columnist for Glamour. Having unveiled her transition from male to female last autumn, Juno will share her experience on a monthly basis with the readers of Glamour. Juno comments: “It is such a thrill to bring my transition diary to Glamour Magazine. 2015 was a watershed year in terms of trans awareness and so it feels right that a magazine for ALL women in a modern, diverse UK should feature a proud trans woman. I'd like to thank Glamour and editor Jo Elvin for letting me tell my story at such an exciting time in my life... It's going to be quite the journey!”. Joining Juno at the beginning of the long road ahead of her, in her first column for Glamour she opens up on the process of understanding and accepting her gender identity, describes the difficulties of choosing a new name for herself, and asks what it means to be a woman in today’s society. Juno’s first column can be read in the February issue of the magazine, on sale now, before the series moves to Glamour.com with part two – which will be published on 4 February.
