Jan Watchel has been appointed president of publishing at Bauer Media's Publishing Business Area. Jan, who will join Bauer on 1 January 2023, is a media and publishing specialist and has worked with companies including Axel Springer, BILD, and RTL Group, where he was on the Executive Board. He is currently Co-CEO Firstlead GmbH - Adcell - an affiliate network. Jan brings with him huge experience of both print and digital publishing.

Commenting on the appointment, Bauer Media Group CEO Yvonne Bauer said: “Publishing as a sector is undergoing a period of unpredicted change. Jan’s print and digital publishing experience means he is ideally placed to drive the transformation of our Publishing business. This will enable us to maximize our print publishing while at the same time accelerating digital growth.”
