Munkle is a new men's and children's beachwear brand founded by ex-city broker JD O'Brien and designer Nicola McCulloch. Channeling bright colour and good old-fashioned sense of humour, the debut collection consists of beach-to-bar swim shorts in three wearable designs: Radiki, Spartacus and Tarzan, made in two quick-dry colour-fast fabrics. Munkle shorts feature neon back pocket zips, contrasting stitching and coloured drawstring cords, of which two pairs are also available in kids sizes. Rafiki, Spartacus and Tarzan are named after primates and have a link to the International Primate Rescue (IPR), which provides a sanctuary in Pretoria, South Africa for primates from all over the world. Having established a relationship with IPR, Munkle plans to help through charitable donations from sales on Munklebeachwear.com. Prices range between £25 and £55.
