London-based Bluebuck menswear has announced the launch of an entire range of swimwear made from recycled plastic. Bluebuck's marine waste shorts are made from 100 percent Seaqual™ yarn, which is produced from plastic collected from the Mediterranean seabed by Spanish fishermen. This waste is then cleaned, sorted and recycled to produce the Seaqual™ yarns that go into every pair of Bluebuck swim shorts.
The collection has adopted a nautical theme and comes in eight different colour combinations and features zigzag stitching which can be found on sails and the elements of the flags. Bluebuck's proactive climate-friendly menswear products are made from certified organic cotton, produced in European factories powered by renewable energy sources and are transported by road to ensure the lowest carbon footprint possible.
The swimwear collection is now available online from bluebuck.net. Priced at £75, five percent of all swimwear sales donated to the Marine Conservation Society.
