British GQ has announced the promotion of Jonathan Heaf from features director to the newly created role of chief content officer. Jonathan will report directly to editor-in-chief, Dylan Jones. In his newly expanded role, Jonathan will coordinate all print, digital and event content across British GQ’s platforms, including the continued development and evolution of GQ Hype, the premium digital weekly content model together with digital editor, Anna Conrad.
Jonathan will also lead content creation for the upcoming British GQ Heroes event in May as well as continuing to work on main features and cover interviews, alongside his role as editor of the House Rules section within the print magazine.
Jonathan joined British GQ in 2005 as senior commissioning editor and since 2011 has held the title of features director. As features director he was shortlisted for a PPA Writer of the Year Award and the prestigious Amnesty International Media Award. Prior to his roles at British GQ, Jonathan was associate editor of The Face and has written for a wide range of publications including the Financial Times, and LOVE.
