Burt's Bees has announced that it has partnered with TerraCycle to launch two new recycling programmes, which offer a free and simple nationwide recycling solution for personal care products in the UK.
The Burt's Bees Personal Care Recycling Programme allows consumers to recycle their personal care product packaging that cannot be recycled through local council systems. TerraCycle will then separate the packaging by polymer type, shred, clean and turn them into plastic pellets. The recycled pellets can then be used by manufacturers.
The second scheme available is the Burt’s Bees Towelette Recycling Programme, giving consumers the ability to recycle their facial towelettes from Burt’s Bees, which cannot currently be recycled through local council systems. These are turned into granules that can then be extruded to make lumber.
Both programmes are now available and open to individuals, schools, organisations and companies based in the UK. Find out more and how to register at burtsbees.co.uk.
