Camden Spirit is a competition born from a partnership between the UK fashion trade event Pure London and London retail destination Camden Market. As a place renowned for its fashion heritage, Camden Market wanted to offer support to emerging brands and aspiring young designers in the UK so have set up this initiative that will see three carefully selected winners offered a prominent retail and workshop space at the market for six months free of charge. Due to open on 22 July with a press event the 3 shops will be designed and refurbished by the designers in their own inimitable style. The winners are: An Original Leroy, founded by Central St.Martin;s graduate and now mentor at London College of Fashion Natasha Wright, offering a unisex collection that pushes boundaries between fashion and streetwear; Fay & Solas, founded by 2013 Young Scottish Designer of the Year winner Jennifer Morris, who creates garments inspired by colour and texture at high street prices; and Sera Ulger London (pictured above), a print-led fashion brand that originates from London that is inspired by the urban music scene and street style, consequently gaining a strong following from celebrities, bloggers and fashion influencers.
