Coty Inc. has announced that it is in talks with reality TV star Kim Kardashian West over a potential collaboration for a cosmetics line. Coty already has a majority stake in Kim's half-sister, Kylie Jenner's make-up and skincare line, which it bought in 2019 for $600m.
Coty's partnership with Kylie Jenner recently came under scrutiny after Forbes magazine alleged that Jenner had overplayed the value of her cosmetics brand. Coty’s new Chief Executive said on 1 June that the allegations came as a “mystery” to him as shares of the company rose nearly 7 percent after the possibility of another collaboration with the family, adding to the 20 percent gains in Coty’s stock seen earlier this week when it named Chairman Peter Harf as its new CEO.
Coty, however, said there was no guarantee that an agreement or collaboration would be agreed and did not provide any further details. For more information please see this link.
