Media publisher DC Thompson has announced that it will be closing titles and making redundancies as a result of the difficult economic climate. DC Thompson's current portfolio features titles including The Press and Journal, The Courier, The Sunday Post, and The Beano. Chief executive Rebecca Miskin commented "the changes involve the reshaping of our media portfolio and the simplification of the underlying structure." The number of redundancies and the titles which will be impacted will be publically announced after discussions have taken place with employees.
