Virtual reality platform Decentraland has launched first-ever Metaverse Fashion Week, a digital fashion week where brands will showcase new clothing collections in the metaverse between 24 to 27 March.
With a number of brands getting involved, some of the partnerships include:
Estée Lauder is the exclusive beauty partner and has partnered with Alex Brox, female artist in the metaverse space, to create an original non-fungible token (NFT) wearable inspired by the brand's #1 serum, Advanced Night Repair. Users will be able to step inside the iconic Advanced Night Repair "Little Brown Bottle" to unlock a digital badge or Proof of Attendance Protocol (POAP) and claim one NFT wearable that gives their avatars a glowing, radiant aura inspired by Advanced Night Repair. For the duration of the event, a limited quantity of 10,000 of the complimentary Advanced Night Repair NFT wearables can be claimed by attendees of Metaverse Fashion Week. Users only require a MetaMask or other crypto wallet that accepts Ethereum and Ethereum tokens (ERC20 Tokens). The wearable will be available for as long as the user wishes.
Tommy Hilfiger showcases its Spring collections, plus hosts a digital retail platform where consumers can shop NFTs for their avatars or purchase physical items from within the Metaverse. This virtual shopping experience will be brought to life in partnership with Boson Protocol - the commerce settlement layer for Web3 enabling the seamless exchange of digital assets for physical products, services and experiences.
Metaverse-ready digital fashion house, republiqe and French accessory retailer, Monnier Paris are launching a virtual store, located in the Luxury Fashion District. COACH, Axel Arigato and Ester Manas have all confirmed participation in the virtual store alongside Wandler and Osoi. republiqe, who have created five of their own bespoke outfits to sit in the store, will also work closely with the brands to turn their physical accessories into virtual metaverse-ready wearables, which will all be sold as NFTs. As well as virtually recreating COACH's famous 'Pillow Tabby Shoulder Bag', republiqe have also recreated a virtual pair of Axel Arigato trainers; the Marathon Runner in Grey / Puritan Grey. For Ester Manas, a virtual version of their famous Clutch has been created and will be sold in the neon green shade. Wandler will be launching a blue gradient bag (pictured below) and thanks to republiqe, Osoi have created a virtual version of their Pecan Brott bag.
