Many influencers have moved away from traditional blogging as Instagram is so popular - has it been important to keep your blog?
With Instagram being so popular, I'm not blogging as much as I used to because you need to give your audience what interests them the most – Instagram videos became a huge thing in the last year and most of my followers seem to enjoy them more than simple blogging. However, I still do keep my blog as my kind of portfolio but most of the action happens on Instagram.
How do your brand collaborations work? Do you create sponsored content on your blog still or is it all across social?
When I started blogging most of my work came through there but ever since Instagram has become more and more popular, brands are only interested in Instagram posts and videos.
I like freedom with sponsored posts as this probably shows the most of me in the post but if the brand has a specific idea in mind I'm ok with it. Most of the time I do have a little brief of what is expected but I'm given lots of freedom to create the content.
Last year you signed to global talent agency summer. How has this made a difference to your business?
Blogging has been a full-time job for me for a year and a half now and signing with summer. has opened doors for me to work with some of my favourite beauty brands.
London can be seen as a hub for blogger events as many brands are based here, has being Manchester-based affected you?
I often travel to London to attend meetings, events or work. However, in the past year, lots of PR agencies have also travelled to meet bloggers in Manchester which has been amazing!
Do you have any help with your channels? Photography, website, social?
When I shoot my outfits I get some help from my boyfriend, but all the beauty content I do myself. I use two apps for editing photos, VSCO Cam and Facetune and for editing videos I use Premiere Pro and Premiere Effects.
YouTube doesn't currently seem to be a focus for you - but we know PRs are very interested in YouTube content (see our poll here!) ... are you likely to focus more on YouTube in the future?
I'm actually planning to do more YouTube this year as I've gained quite a lot of experience with video editing. I wanted to master that first and also see what interests my audience the most. My followers seem to really like my beauty reviews and tips so I'll be expanding on that on YouTube but also doing more vlogs, life updates and any fun video ideas I might have.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! Shall we expect the baby to appear on your feed? Will there be a drastic change in your content?
Thank you so much! Yes, the baby will be on my feed but I'm not meaning to drastically change my feed - just adding a few more lifestyle pieces to it. I'm thinking of maybe creating a special Instagram account for more baby content and life advice that I might have.
You’ve designed and modelled in the past, are these areas you’d like to explore further? Where would you like to take your brand?
Yes, I'm a self-taught designer and model but blogging is my main focus now. I would like to work with brands that inspire me and maybe one day have my own beauty line or collection.
