Walpole has announced that entries are now open for the 2016 Walpole Brands of Tomorrow programme, in association with law firm Mishcon de Reya. Since its inception in 2007, over 75 emerging luxury brands, including Astley Clarke, Shaun Leane, Miller Harris, Bremont Watch Company, Rococo Chocolates, Nyetimber, Charlotte Olympia, Business of Fashion and Mr Hare, have successfully completed the programme and become leading brands in their respective fields. The Brands of Tomorrow programme sets out to nurture and support the next generation of British luxury brands, providing them with bespoke learning and coaching from leaders of some of Britain’s finest luxury brands, as well as access to Walpole’s established membership. To be eligible, companies must have an annual turnover of a minimum of £100,000 and demonstrate the highest standards of quality, design and craftsmanship, together with an aspiration to develop into full Walpole members. Once entries have closed, a shortlist of successful applicants will be invited to present their business plans to the selection panel, comprising some of the UK’s most experienced luxury entrepreneurs. The final 12 brands will be unveiled at an exclusive launch event at The Savoy, in January where they will be partnered up with a mentor. Selected brands will then be invited to participate in a series of six workshops, covering strategy, financial planning, distribution channels and models, branding, marketing, the customer and the complexities of managing a small, growing business. More information can be found on the Walpole website. Entries close on 28 October 2015 and selections will be made in December. Winners will be announced at the Brands of Tomorrow 2016 launch event on 18 January 2016.
