Fashion etailer Farfetch has announced the launch of its Sustainability Calculator to help its customers track how their purchases impact the environment. The online tool shows consumers the overall impact of individual materials used in the items of clothing they purchase and will highlight the sustainability benefits that pre-owned fashion will offer.
The launch of Farfetch's Sustainability Calculator follows a report that the etailer published in partnership with the London Waste and Recycling Board which explores consumer behaviour in the UK, the US and China. The report revealed how secondhand pieces can decrease demand for new items by an average of almost 60% and can also reduce waste by a kilo per purchase.
