British fashion brand Phat Kandi has launched. The alternative fashion brand that champions misfits has launched across the UK in HMV stores. HMV is celebrating 100 years in retail, to mark this milestone they are opening 10 new pop culture stores across the UK, offering Japanese, pop culture-inspired products supplied by independent and up and coming brands.
Phat Kandi was born in 2019 by Creative Director Mel Williams, as she wanted to create a brand for the misfits, dreamers, and rule-breakers. With a love of all things Japanese, and inspired by the fashion tribes of Harajuku, Mel created a brand combining her distinctive handwriting, illustrations and her fashion design experience.
The first HMV store is now open in Solihull offering Phat Kandi limited edition fashion pieces such as tees and bucket hats. Nine more concept stores will be opening across the UK each month from September.
