Adam Baidawi has been appointed editor-in-chief at GQ Middle East. The twenty-first edition of the title will launch in September and will be published under licence agreement with ITP Media Group.
At the age of 28 years old, Adam joins GQ Middle East as the youngest editor of the global brand. He has reported extensively on global, technology, style, politics, migration and technology issues and most recently held the post of Australia correspondent for the New York Times. Since 2011, Adam has also worked as a writer and photographer for GQ Australia, where he profiled celebrities, athletes and politicians. He has written feature stories from Colombia, Iraq, the United States and North Korea for the magazine. Adam's writing and photography has also been published internationally by British GQ, Mr Porter, CNN, Vanity Fair Italia and Esquire UK. Born in Abu Dhabi to Iraqi parents, Baidawi was raised and worked in Australia.
