Guardian Media Group has announced in a statement that it has appointed Annette Thomas as its new chief executive. Annette has a 25-year track record in leading global publishing and data analytics businesses, across academic, educational and consumer media.

Most recently Annette was chief executive of Web of Science Group, a data, analytics and software business focused on research and higher education, where she successfully transformed the group and delivered rapid growth, leading it to list on the New York Stock Exchange as part of Clarivate Analytics. She currently serves as a trustee of Yale University and a non-executive director of Cambridge University’s Press and Assessment businesses.
