Hearst UK appoints Director of PR and Communications

Hearst UK, the leading premium publisher, has today announced the appointment of Effie Kanyua to the role of Director of PR and Communications. Effie will commence her role on 8 October.
Effie has over 14 years’ communications experience; consulting leading global brands including: P&G, Coty, Unilever, Johnson & Johnson, Huawei, Samsung, Microsoft, Virgin Media, Diageo and Pernod Ricard. She was Communications Director at Bauer Media, leading its broadcast and then publishing arm, and spent several years at the BBC as a journalist working within its TV and radio businesses. She has led teams at communications agencies including: Splendid Communications, Clarity, Weber Shandwick, TALK.GLOBAL and Ketchum, working with some of the world’s biggest tech, media, FMCG, beauty and healthcare brands.
Effie will be responsible for driving and implementing Hearst UK’s external and internal communications agenda, leading the PR and Communications team. She will report directly to CEO James Wildman and join Hearst UK’s Strategy Team.
