H&M has announced the launch of its first in-store recycling system, Looop, turning old garments into new. The unwanted garment is fed into the machine Looop to get cleaned, shredded and spun into yarn and after about five hours creates a new knitted piece. The technology behind the machine has been developed by The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA) in collaborations with the non-profit H&M Foundation.
