Facebook has launched Instagram Reels as a new way to create and discover short and entertaining videos on Instagram. Users are able to record and edit 15-second multi-clip videos with audio, effects and new creative tools to share with followers on their feed and a wider audience. It has been widely reported that the launch of Reels comes as TikTok faces a potential ban in the US by President Donald Trump or a possible partial acquisition by Microsoft.
Instagram Reels is now available in 50 countries including the US, UK, Japan, and Australia, on both iOS and Android.
