Instagram is removing its swipe up feature in a move to streamline its story experience. Instagram has announced that it will be removing the swipe up interaction in favour of its new link sticker option. The new tappable stickers in stories will take people to external websites
The company has reportedly said that "it’s retiring the swipe up — a feature that’s spawned its own category of GIFs and a phrase that’s now part of the lexicon — to “streamline the stories creation experience” and offer more “creative control,” given that uses can format the look of stickers and not the swipe up."
Instagram will remove the swipe up feature from 30 August.
