JD Sports acquires Manchester independent Oi Polloi

JD Sports has acquired cult Manchester menswear independent Oi Polloi. The sportswear chain has bought the Northern Quarter shop at 63 Thomas Street, Manchester, as well as all online assets. JD Sports executive chairman Peter Cowgill has been named Company of Oi Polloi.
The menswear store opened in 2002 and has built a cult following over the years, selling brands such as Patagonia, Battenwear, Berghaus and Stone Island.
