John Lewis has launched a new virtual queuing system at three of its stores and six Waitrose stores. The new system will allow shoppers to scan a QR code with their smartphones and then track their position in a virtual queue via SMS in real-time. Shoppers will wait from their vehicle or browse other shops until they are informed that their slot is available.
The new system will be trialled at the select stores for four weeks.
