John Lewis has announced the launch of its first ever luxury, ready-to-wear label, modern rarity. Moving away from disposable, fast fashion, the new label will present a rare take on luxury with an ethos of fewer, better pieces. modern rarity redefines wardrobe staples as unique pieces with sophisticated cuts, luxurious fabrics and understated silhouettes. Designed in house and created by Jo Bennett, head of buying alongside Iain Ewing, head of design, modern rarity will offer a 90-strong collection of trousers, knitwear, shirts, outwear and bags. The label will be available in-stores and on johnlewis.com on 8 September.
