Marie Claire UK has announced the winners of its first-ever Sustainability Awards. The awards recognise and celebrate the brands that are not just acknowledging their environmental and ethical responsibilities, but ensuring action is at the heart of their business. The categories covered beauty, fashion, health & wellness, home, motors, food & drink and travel & leisure. Winners include emerging businesses, niche brands and industry-leading companies.
Entries were judged by a panel of over 40 of the world's leading experts and thought leaders in sustainability including Ingrid Newkirk (Founder, PETA), Amy Nelson-Bennett (Managing Director, Positive Luxury), Myriam Sidibe (Chief Mission Officer, Brands on a Mission), Ella Roberston McKay (Managing Director, One Young World) and Noëlla Coursaris Musunka (Founder and CEO, Malaika).
Not only is this Marie Claire’s inaugural Sustainability Awards, but it is also the brand's first-ever carbon-neutral awards event. In partnership with Nula Carbon, Marie Claire will be measuring the carbon footprint of the virtual ceremony and offsetting carbon emissions.
