Marks & Spencer has appointed Mitch Hughes as Director of Menswear. Mitch brings category experience, which includes leading the strategy and vision at Boohoo Group as Managing Director following the takeover of Arcadia Group, and as Managing Director of Topman. Mitch was instrumental in bringing Dorothy Perkins, Burton and Wallis into the Boohoo Group stable following the takeover in 2021 while protecting each brand’s distinct offer and heritage. He structured and reset all three brands to be online and has a wealth of valuable knowledge on pureplay digital retail as well as physical retail from his experience at Topshop, Topman, Burton, Matalan and M&S.
Mitch Hughes said: “I’m hugely excited to be re-joining the business after over 15 years. I have been impressed with the transformation journey Richard, Wes and team have taken the Clothing & Home business on. Everyone I’ve met has clarity on the strategy and journey ahead. There’s so much opportunity in the menswear market and M&S is now well set up to deliver growth across all markets and channels to their customers. I’m looking forward to joining the team and continuing to shape the future of M&S. Bring on 2023!”
