My Market Insight, the company for data, commentary, and analysis across various media platforms, has revealed its weekly beauty insight, today with a focus on UK and Ireland's 10 most ‘PR progressed’ foundation brands in 2018 - looking at 10 brands who have performed particularly well this year by growing their media presence across all media platforms. Focusing on the foundation category, they outline how they have achieved such a rapid increase in media coverage and what media outlets and retailers are supporting their media strategy.

My Market Insight analyses the performance of these brands against key metrics such as PR mentions, earned media value (EMV) and social engagement. Our top 10 this week are: Benefit Cosmetics, Cover FX, EX1 Cosmetics, GOSH Copenhagen, Hourglass Cosmetics, Huda Beauty, IT Cosmetics, LA Girl Cosmetics, Makeup Revolution, Maybelline New York.

Content Summary: 

  • (UK) Retailers Cult Beauty and Boots both ranked first in the recommended retailer rankings across print, online and social media. Most of their recommendations came from online publications such as independent.co.uk and cosmopolitan.co.uk. Both media outlets recommended Huda Beauty’s Faux Filter Foundation and the Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick by Hourglass, with coverage generating a total EMV of £70,170
  • (UK) Between January and 1st September 2018, Huda Beauty was the most liked brand for foundation on Instagram. Its Faux Filter Foundation was mentioned by 43 different Social Influencers like Gina Box and Alexis Stone. Total coverage for the foundation received a total of 5,280,305 likes and an EMV of £1,524,087
  • (Ireland) Similar to the UK, it was Instagram which represented the majority of foundation PR mentions this year so far. The two best performing brands on Instagram were EX1 and CoverFX who combined achieved 73% of the total engagement for foundation.
