Focussing on the haircare category, they outline how the brands have achieved such a rapid increase in media coverage and what media outlets and retailers are supporting their media strategy.

The top 10 for the UK are: Anastasia Beverly Hills, Huda Beauty, Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Laura Mercier, Lime Crime, Makeup Revolution, Morphe, Pixi Beauty, Primark, Smashbox

The top 10 for the Irish market are: Anastasia Beverly Hills, BUXOM, Inglot, Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Kylie Cosmetics, Makeup Geek, OFRA, Primark, Sigma, Stila.

(UK) Instagram Influencer Support for the Top 10

(UK) YouTUbe Social Influencer Support for the Top 10

Content Summary: 

  • (UK) Primark was the most popular brand for lipsticks on YouTube this year, receiving 370,259 likes and 9,176,142 views. 22 different lipstick products were featured by 26 different Social Influencers. The most support came from Sophie (sophdoesnails) and Sophie Louise, who both mentioned the PS…Pure Gloss Lipstick and the PS…Nude Matte Lipstick. Combined their coverage generated an EMV of £249,951
  • Huda Beauty ranked first in the brand rankings for lipsticks across print, online and social media. By targeting social media, and Instagram in particular, the brand has seen a great year-on-year success. In 2018, it received 414 PR mentions, which is 346 more than in the same period last year. Instagram represented 81% of Huda Beauty’s total lipstick coverage. 6 lipsticks were mentioned by 66 different Social Influencers such as Elouise and Rady with coverage achieving a total EMV of £818,785
  • (Ireland) This year, social media (YouTube and Instagram) generated 68% of lipstick PR mentions for our 10 selected brands in Ireland. The Makeup Geek Liquid Lipstick was the second most mentioned product across the two media channels. It was mentioned by Social Influencer Stephanie Lange with a social estimated reach of 1,862,780 on Instagram and 611,828 on YouTube.
