Content Summary:

  • In the first half of 2019, Jo Malone London ranked first for PR performance with 546 more mentions than the average top 10 fragrances. The brand coverage mainly came from online sources with 49% split across online publications, blogs, and ezines. You.co.uk mentioned 23 of Jo Malone London’s products. These include their unisex, female and room fragrance product range, which earned a total EMV of £93,257.
  • The retailer Boots has earned the top position for Fragrance PR performance with an EMV of £188,502. Among the brands with the highest contribution for Boots, we found Chanel and Issey Miyake with £65,285 EMV. The coverage around these brands was dominated by online publications with 92% of the content coming from Stylist, The independent and Perfume Society websites.
  • Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) has been the most popular fragrance brand on Instagram in 2019. This was mainly due to significant content from social media influencers like (@ccclarbeauty) and (@Kaushal) whose combined coverage collected 549,530 likes. From the 14 different products that have generated strong engagement for YSL, Black Opium EDP has been remarkably popular with 488,732 likes.
  • The social influencer Lydia Elise Millen produced the furthest reaching content on YouTube around fragrances in 2019 (Jan - Jun). Her YouTube Channel had 2,706,375 views, placing her at the top of the charts. Some of the brands that she mentioned were Jo Malone London, Aerin, Elizabeth Arden, and REN. From these brands, the fragrance with the highest engagement was Aerin’s Aegea Blossom with 10,860 likes.
