My Market Insight, the company for data, commentary and analysis across various media platforms, has revealed its weekly beauty insight today with a focus on fragrance products. At a category level, fragrance is 5th for the number of mentions in 2016. Although there was a relatively low amount of fragrance mentions in 2016, the category’s AVE is worth £22,064,759, therefore it undoubtedly has a big presence in the industry.
In December 2016, Jo Malone was the most mentioned fragrance brand across all media types; while The Scented Letter was the leading media title for the most fragrance mentions. The most mentioned fragrance on social media was Michael Bublé’s By Invitation EDP, which received 37 mentions. In print, CHANEL achieved the highest AVE of £297,813 for their fragrances in December 2016, beating Jo Malone who had an overall of £160,847. Overall, across all media types fragrance PR mentioned increased by 14%.
