Fluorescent PR has been appointed to represent innovative nail app NailBuff. The agency will devise and implement the PR strategy for the NailBuff brand. The app allows nail polish devotees to find the perfect shade using their exclusive touchscreen technology. Users can also search through a large database of polishes by colour or brand, or take a photo or screenshot of the exact colour they’re looking for – the app will match it with the closest find. Users can add to a ‘wish list’ and ‘collection’, which can be shared via social media.
The collection allows users to record which shades they already own, to curate the ultimate nail wardrobe. Brands already searchable on the app include OPI, essie, Barry M, butter LONDON, Ciaté and Jessica. Capability to purchase directly through the app will be implemented in the next few months, to allow users to search and shop their favourite shades. In addition, nail bars will be able to list their salon on the app, as well as their nail polish collections, so users can find a nail bar and pick a colour in advance of their appointment.
The brand is the brainchild of Harpreet Birdi whose career in investment banking HR took her to New York, where she became hooked on the nail salon experience. Unable to find the same service in London, Harpreet decided to qualify as a nail technician. Coupled with the influx of beauty apps over the past couple of years, Harpreet spotted an opportunity to combine her love of technology and nail care expertise.
The NailBuff app is free and available to download for iOS via the AppStore.
