John Prothero, a renowned beauty PR for over 30 years, sadly passed away on Saturday 21 March at the age of 57. John headed up the PR for hairdressing salon MichaelJohn for 10 years, then was Head of Press and PR for beauty retailer Space NK for four years until 2007. He went on to launch is own agency JRPPR where he worked with clients including Dr Sebagh and, most recently, with Samantha Sweet of Sweet Squared across professional nail brands including CND.

Gail Raymonde, founder of DIARY directory and a dear friend of John, has said: "John was a kind-hearted man who was loved by many in the industry. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, wit and cheeky nature. He loved his dear husband, Stephan and his dogs deeply. Stephan will lay John to rest in Buoux, his favourite place in Provence, beside their beloved dog Sophie."  Stephan has set up a JustGiving page to help fund the trip.
