Hubert d’Ornano, founder of skincare brand Sisley, has died at the age of 89, it was announced by his wife Madame Isabelle d’Ornano, and his children Philippe, Elisabeth and Christine. Hubert, along with his wife, took over the Sisley brand in 1976, whereby he decided to make a pioneer of phyto-cosmetology and to only use the best natural plant extracts in his products. During the forty years that followed, joined by their children, Philippe, Christine and Elisabeth, Hubert and Isabelle made Sisley one of the world leaders of high end cosmetics. In 2013, Sisley’s Presidency was entrusted to Philippe d’Ornano. With his wife, Hubert d’Ornano remained very involved in the development of Sisley and of its teams as well as to the quality of its products. Together, they created in 2007 the Sisley-d’Ornano Foundation, under the aegis of the Fondation de France, to conduct charity work and philanthropy in very diverse fields, both in France and abroad. The following year, Hubert d’Ornano published his memoirs writing his book, Boundless Beauty. Across 30 subsidiaries, Sisley markets and distributes its products in more than 90 countries.
