Rain Communications has been appointed by Dropit to manage the corporate and B2B PR implementation to launch its new shopping service across the UK, communicating the benefits of the new service to the retail industry. Dropit partners with retailers, town centres and high streets and shopping centres to provide shoppers with a convenient way to deliver their shopping safely and securely home, to enable them to keep on shopping. Dropit is the brainchild of entrepreneur Karin Cabili, and is supported by retail heavyweights including Lord Alliance of N Brown. Property owners The Crown Estate have already signed up Dropit to deliver home delivery services for Regent Street stores and customers. Rain will be working alongside Dropit’s consumer agency Portas, where the account is headed up by founder Mary Portas. Additionally, Casis Media has appointed Rain to manage the PR for the first annual Student of the Year Awards, which will take place on 25 September. The brainchild of the first Apprentice winner and Chairman of social enterprise Bright Ideas Trust, Tim Campbell, the awards are designed to recognise the achievements of school leavers and the prize is an internship with a leading business. Rain has been contracted to manage the launch of the awards and develop a communications strategy that will establish the awards as one of the most prestigious nationwide accolades for students.
