Rain Communications has been appointed to handle the relaunch of Walpole British Luxury’s annual press day, which will take place in September. In March 2015, the agency was appointed by Walpole, the alliance of 170 of Britain’s finest luxury brands, that promotes, protects and develops the unique qualities of UK luxury, with a brief to execute the consumer PR strategy, promote Walpole’s annual calendar of events and other initiatives including Walpole’s Brands of Tomorrow and the Walpole British Luxury Awards. The account win followed Rain’s previous work with the organisation on the Walpole 2014 British Luxury Awards. The annual Walpole press day gives Walpole members the opportunity to showcase their innovation, craftsmanship and expertise to selected UK and international media. Visiting journalists and editors will have exclusive access to the curated exhibits and the opportunity to meet the creative driving forces behind some of the very best British luxury brands. Walpole members taking part include Backes and Strauss, Belmond, Boodles, Chewton Glen, Chivas Regal, Clive Christian, Cole and Son, Ettinger, Halcyon Days, Henry Poole, Linley, Miller Harris, Only Fingers and Toes, Rachel Vosper, Redman Whiteley Dixon, Savoir Beds and The Savoy. This year, the Walpole British Luxury press day will be held at Spencer House in London’s St James’s and, for the first time, the event will comprise an editor’s preview night, business media breakfast and press open day for UK and international press, with a photo call and dedicated social media campaign. Media attendees will also gain an insight into a new WGSN report on the British luxury industry commissioned by Walpole.
