River Island has appointed Adrian Arbuthnot as Head of Menswear Design as part of ongoing plans to expand the menswear category and grow market share. Adrian will oversee all aspects of the menswear design process, supported by Menswear Design Managers Matthew Braun and Sarah Greig. Adrian Arbuthnot joins River Island from Indian fashion e-tailer Koovs, where he has been Menswear Design Manager since October 2013. He replaces Menswear Design Director Sarah Turton, who left the business in 2015. This marks Adrian's second stint at River Island, previously working as Senior Menswear Designer between 2001 and 2006. Prior to Koovs, Adrian has held positions as Design Director of high street clothing supplier ADA, working with the likes of Next, Debenhams and House of Fraser between 2010 and 2013 as well as a four year tenure as Menswear Designer at Burton between. He will be debuting his first menswear collection for River Island for AW16.
