Snapchat teams up with Amazon for new shopping feature

Snapchat has announced that it is testing a new way to search for products on Amazon from the Snapchat camera. The new shopping feature can be used by pointing the Snapchat camera at a physical product or barcode, and pressing and holding on the camera screen to get started. When the item or barcode is recognised, an Amazon card will appear on-screen, surfacing a link for that product or similar ones available on Amazon. Users can then tap to visit the Amazon App or amazon.com, where they can complete the purchase or keep browsing. The new feature will be rolled out slowly.
