Social media app Vero has seen a drastic rise in popularity, with bloggers musicians and artists joining the platform set to take on platforms such as Instagram and Twitter. Vero’s business model is not based on serving advertisements. As a subscription-based service, users are customers, not the product. The Vero subscription model will allow the platform to maintain its advert-free focus without its aim being to monetise its users’ behaviour. The first million users will be able to sign up for the service for free. New users after that will be asked for a small annual fee.
