Soho House is opening its new White City House location next week on 23 April. The House, situated in former BBC London headquarters in West London, will have two floors of club space, a rooftop pool and bar, cinema, screening room, 24,000 sq ft gym, and 45 bedrooms within the building’s original Grade-II listed central ring. 

The design of White City House has taken inspiration from the history of the building and its 50’s-60’s heritage. On the rooftop is a swimming pool and bar, with a specially designed Terrazzo tile floor running from outside in, curved bar, painted gloss timber ceiling and timber furniture. Plants line the edge of the roof, with 60’s inspired sun loungers and parasols.

The 9th floor is the main members’ space. The Games Room has a large Billiards table, adjoining a bar with comfortable seating and a specially made resin Terazzo floor inset with brass, which runs through the whole floor. The bar leads out onto an outdoor terrace with tables for eating and drinking. 
 
There will be a large open kitchen, with an East meets West menu, dim sum, roast duck and Asian inspired food and drinks, as well as healthy plant-based dishes and Soho House favourites. The space has a small stage for performances, comfy chairs and sofas, and fluted-timber walls designed after the original panelling in the BBC reception.  
 
Studio 8 on the 8th floor will host members’ events - with a green room backstage, an open kitchen and bar and an outdoor terrace, 60’s inspired lights and furniture and a patterned resin floor.
 
The 45 bedrooms range from sizes Tiny to Large, over the 2nd and 3rd floor of the Grade-II listed Helios building. Each room has George Nelson lamps, mid-century Terrazzo tables and reading lights, fluted timber wardrobes and modernist wooden minibars, with original exposed concrete support beams on the ceilings. The bathrooms have circular patterned tiles inspired by BBC designs, and a full range of Cowshed products. 
 
HouseGym, is situated in the basement of the Helios Building, with cardio and free weights equipment, bespoke TRX rig and prowler track plus Olympic lifting platforms. Four studios with regular class timetables feature yoga, multifunctional conditioning and high-intensity interval training. The 17-metre lap pool has a steam room, sauna and hammam, as well as a juice bar.
 
The ground floor of White City House is open to the public. The lounge and bar has an outdoor terrace and an open kitchen for coffee, food or cocktails. 

Electric Cinema White City has two screens, each with rows of velvet armchairs, footstalls and cashmere blankets. The space has dark blue 60’s patterned geometric carpets and velvet walls, as well as a kiosk bar serving food and drinks, with signage inspired by the BBC studios on the walls.

 
The aim for White City House is to bring to West London what Shoreditch House bought to East London when it opened in 2007 – a space for the local creative community to eat, drink, exercise and relax.
