In a move highlighting the soon to be launched menswear collection, contemporary luxury clothing brand Studio Nicholson appoints Charlie Mellor who has joined with immediate effect as Product Director across the entire Studio Nicholson Portfolio. Charlie will be quintessential to the new direction and instrumental in the planning and launch of the Studio Nicholson menswear collection. He will be overseeing the existing core womenswear collections and overall brand strategy, Charlie will be working closely with the founder and designer of Studio Nicholson Nick Wakeman on both the art and creative direction moving forward.
A luminary and recognised figure in menswear fashion, Charlie boasts an inimitable two decades of vast experience in the British fashion industry, bringing with him a wealth of unrivalled knowledge and respect from peers. Having recently made the decision to vacate his position as Head of Design for the iconic British brand, Fred Perry. n his previous roles Charlie was responsible for managing teams of designers across menswear, womenswear, footwear and accessories whilst also curating special projects and widely celebrated collaborations, working with a veritable ‘who’s who’ of designers, artists and personalities from Raf Simons, Stüssy, Amy Winehouse, Sir Peter Blake, Sir Bradley Wiggins, Drake’s of London, to exalted institutions in the industry such as Liberty of London and Comme des Garçons. To date Charlie’s career that has witnessed him traversing the globe extensively in the capacity of seeking out and developing product, orchestrating core brand development and getting closely involved in sourcing across Asian markets, in particular Japan and Korea. This is a calculated move that highlights the positive momentum and overt expansion of Studio Nicholson the brand.
