Superdrug has announced that it has removed all plastic applicators from own brand tampons and that it has launched its first own-brand range of organic menstrual products, Luna. Superdrug's own brand tampons will now either contain cardboard applicators or will be non-applicator. The health and beauty retailer is the firs to discontinue plastic applicators within its own brand sanitary products.
Superdrug's Luna range has been made with organic cotton and plant-based plastics. The range includes two towels, day and night, and one liner for everyday use. The new range uses only ethical and sustainably sourced elements that are certified to meet the Global Organic Textiles Standards. the Luna packaging is also ethically made with renewable plant-based materials.
