Suzy Menkes has announced that she will be stepping down from her role as editor of Vogue International, after six years at Condé Nast. Suzy joined Condé Nast in 2014, following a career working at titles including the Herald Tribune and New York Times.
In a statement on her Instagram, Suzy commented: "During my time at Vogue, I have enjoyed seeing the evolution and development of the fashion and creative industry - from reporting on shows and posting here on Instagram, to organising and running some of the greatest conferences and events."
The news comes as the 2020 Condé Nast Luxury Conference, scheduled for December, was cancelled, of which Suzy was curator and host. A statement on its website said: “After five successful editions of the annual Condé Nast Luxury Conference, Suzy Menkes will step down as editor, Vogue International, from October.”
Suzy went on to say: " I am proud of everything I have achieved at the company. I am grateful to all the industry insiders I have worked with, and of course my entire team at Condé Nast."
She has not disclosed what her plans are next but has hinted that there may be a book released containing her 30 years of photos and diaries. Suzy Menkes will leave Condé Nast in October, after attending and reporting on the next season of shows.
