Across the globe, every year countries recognise October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The month helps to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. Next Friday, 23 October, is Breast Cancer Now's Wear It Pink Day, one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK.
