The Conran Shop has announced the appointment of Hugh Wahla as Chief Executive Officer, Conran Retail & Brand Holdings Ltd – the parent company of The Conran Shop. Previously Managing Director of Urban Outfitters Europe, Hugh spent 17 years establishing and growing the business outside of its native USA, helping the brand to become what it is today. With particular expertise in brand strategy within the retail sector, Hugh’s appointment will now see him responsible for strengthening awareness of The Conran Shop and its evolving offering and overseeing its continued expansion in the UK and internationally. As he joined the business, The Conran Shop was opening its third UK store: a concession within Selfridges. The brand already has two standalone London stores in Chelsea and Marylebone as well as a store in Paris and six franchise stores in Japan.
