The Guardian has unveiled a number of new columns in its Weekend magazine: Meera Sodha, best-selling author of Fresh India and Made in India, has joined the magazine, with a new weekly recipe column devoted to vegan cooking. The column is aimed at vegans after fresh ideas, bringing recipes from India and also from around the world. Thomasina Miers will also be writing a simple supper recipe every week. The recipe will be for a dish that can be cooked in 60 minutes or less, on a new cut out and keep page, alongside her tips with what to do with leftovers for the rest of the week. Press releases should be directed to food pages editor Bob Granleese. Zoe Williams is writing a new fitness column, 'System upgrade'. Giving herself a health MOT, Zoe will provide her take on the latest in the worlds of fitness, health and wellbeing, from breakfast raves to vaping. Queries and press releases can be directed to assistant editor Ruth Lewy.
Also appearing in the body and mind section is 'My life in sex', in which readers (anonymously) provide stories about their lives in sex. Appearing alongside Sali Hughes' award-winning expert column is now 'The beautyroad test', featuring one of Weekend's regular All Ages models per week, roadtesting four products for men, older women, or a range of skin tones. For women's products, fashion stylist Melanie Wilkinson should be contacted. For men's products, menswear fashion editor Helen Seamons should be contacted. Sali remains the sole contact for her column.
The Guardian has also announced that Coco Khan has joined with a new column about life on Generation Rent, covering the ups and downs of being some way off the property ladder, including bad flatmates, concerned parents and callous landlords. For further information, deputy editor Charlotte Northedge should be contacted.
