The Independent has announced the following team updates.
Cathy Adams has been appointed head of travel. Cathy, previously a freelance travel journalist and editor, was most recently based in Hong Kong as deputy editor at Discovery magazine.
Christopher Hooton, previously culture editor, has decided to step back from the role in order to focus on writing and is now film and television critic-at-large. As a result of this role change, Patrick Smith, previously music editor at The Telegraph, has joined as head of culture.
